STARBASE is a educational adjunctive STEM academic program intended for and primarily reserved for identified at-risk 5th Grade student populations. To address this mission, we primarily work with Title I schools within public school systems. The STARBASE experience is a five-day, full academic day long, 25-contact hour academy with a set DoD curriculum tied to state and national STEM standards fo

r this grade level. We normally run 34-36 academy classes per academic year, and public schools take up 90% of those slots. The remaining slots are taken up by private schools that meet the "at-risk students" definition, and 2-3 homeschool groups that can attend during public school testing and admin weeks. The federal laws and instructions that regulate STARBASE (defined by Department of Defense Letter of Instruction 1025.7, 14SEP2000) prevent us from selecting or rejecting individual potential students, so we work with either school systems, individual schools, or with the administrative personnel of homeschool groups to build classes, that must have no less than 20 and no more than 35 students. In addition, we run 5-7 specialized summer camps for specific groups. Even at this level of offerings, we can meet only about 10% of the demand for academies. Our schedule for the 2016-2017 school year is now set and filled, with a significant waiting list that will fill 2017-2018 and part of 2018-2019. At this time, we do not offer summer camps to the public or to homeschool groups. If you are a homeschool group administrator that would like to add your group to our waiting list, please message us here with your email address and a note to that effect. If you are an individual homeschooler who would like your student to attend a STARBASE academy, send us a message with your email address and a note to that effect, and we will pass it along to the administrators of the attending homeschool groups.
