Attached is information on two nutrition related scholarships, which are worth $500 per scholarship. These scholarships are offered by the Georgia Nutrition Council. The deadline to apply is February 1st. If possible, please forward this information to any student database that might be applicable. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

Summary of Scholarships:
Holly Alley Scholarship:
The scholarship is offered in memory of Holly B. Alley, former Nutrition Specialist for Georgia Cooperative Extension. The scholarship is designed to recognized students who are committed to a career which would contribute to the health and well-being of individuals and communities. Applicants must be rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students in good academic standing at their college or university in Georgia and must be a member of GNC. This $500 scholarship is presented at the annual meeting for the Georgia Nutrition Council.

Rita Waters Scholarship:
The scholarship is offered in memory of Rita Waters, former Georgia Cooperative Extension Nutritionist. The scholarship is designed to recognize currently enrolled students with a major interest in the area of Food, Nutrition, dietetics, for Food Technology. Applicants must be rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students in good academic standing at their college or university in Georgia and much be a member of GNC. This $500 scholarship is presented at the annual meeting for the Georgia Nutrition Council.

Tomorrow (Tues, Oct 23) we will be hosting a group of middle schoolers and presenting them with an interactive healthy snacking demo. Anyone interested in helping pepare, or helping with the demo, we are meeting at 2:30 in the demo kitchen. The presentation begins at 4 and will last about an hour.
