🏕️ Mindfulness, Family, and the Power of Being Present 🧘♀️
This weekend, we took our annual family camping trip to Jellystone in Quarryville, PA, and for the first time in a while… I really let myself be there.
Not just physically, but mentally present—not worrying about work, not stressing over whether everyone was having a perfect time, not trying to over-manage the moments. Just being. Laughing by the campfire. Playing games (this picture is of us playing Crokinole). Watching my family enjoy each other’s company. Letting things unfold.
It made such a huge difference. In the past, I’ve sometimes found myself stuck in my head during trips like these—checking email, running lists in my brain, or overthinking whether everything was going smoothly. But this time, I gave myself permission to pause, breathe, and soak in the joy.
🌲 Mindfulness tip: When you're with loved ones, practice presence by noticing small joys—how the air smells in the morning, the sound of laughter nearby, the feeling of sunlight or shade. These tiny moments are what become our most precious memories.
