I had these wheelchair access raised planters made prior to the lockdown last spring. I have been storing them in my yard, but they would be better enjoyed up at the Due West Gardens. Can a parent volunteer with a truck pick these up this weekend and bring them over to the school? I can pay you in basil.😜

Exciting times! Things are happening at Due West Gardens. The tomatoes are setting up and the green beans are growing. We have all kinds of herbs and flowers and cucumbers on the way. We have Chard, okra coming up, more tomatoes and gladiolus in the upper garden!! A HUGE Thank you to our volunteer Henry Brooks, grandfather of Sara Payne. He has been busy planting, watering, w**ding and dreaming with us for the future of the gardens. Please stop by with your student and check out the sunflowers, grab a few ripe blackberries to taste, snip some basil, or snack on a red tomato! Don’t forget to take pictures and share them with us. :)

The weather looks fabulous for this afternoon! I’ll be headed up to the Due West Gardens at 2pm. I’m bringing the new w**d eater and will be there for a few hours. All socially distanced of course. Anyone is welcome to join us! Welcome to bring loppers to help prune, pitchforks to help scoop and spread mulch. We will also have tools abs 4 wheelbarrows on hand. Pictures for inspiration 🤣!! Bring your own water bottle for hydration!

Parents, teachers, DWES friends and family..
It’s been a long lonely break for our Gardens, but I’m anxious to get them up and running again! We’ve been given grants and resources and I can’t wait to put them to good use. We just bought a w**d eater with some of the money from Cobb EMC grant and will be out there next weekend 20th and 21st clearing out w**ds and working to uncover our buried garden. I’d love to hear from you. Please consider commenting below if you are interested in being a part of our team on any scale - March through September!! (Pic from 2019)
