MARIETTA, Ohio — Former Marietta College baseball All-American Turner Hill '22 was called up to the major leagues by the San Francisco Giants Thursday (August 13) morning. Hill becomes the seventh Pioneer to reach Major League Baseball.

Marietta College has been named to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society 2026 Transfer Honor Roll, one of 275 four-year colleges and universities nationwide recognized for excellence in supporting community college transfer students. The honor is based on transfer outcomes, credit mobility, financial support, and campus engagement.

"At Marietta, we work to make that path as clear and supportive as possible," said Heidi Terry, vice president for enrollment management. Transfer students can meet with an admissions counselor before applying, request an unofficial transfer evaluation with results in three to five business days, and apply year-round. Marietta also partners with Washington State College of Ohio through the WSCO2MC program for a seamless path to a four-year degree.
