Blue Wall Group + Slater-Marietta Arts Center The Blue Wall Group, Inc. is a registered charity located in Northern Greenville County.

Blue Wall Group seeks to improve the local communities of northern Greenville and Pickens Counties through greater access to the arts. Slater-Marietta Arts Center is the headquarters and initial facility owned and operated by Blue Wall Group. SMAC will serve as an educational and exhibition venue for the arts in the Slater-Marietta Community.

Blue Wall Group inc ceased trading when Joe Dill from county tore the building down and destroyed thousands of dollars worth of art works, equipment and investment in the cultural life of Slater-Marietta.

It is time to say good bye to hopes for reviving Slater-Marietta Arts Centre. Thanks to those who supported us - there just weren't enough of you to make a convincing case to the people who might have provided funding. Leaders in the community saw Slater Hall as the only project worth putting their faith in, and that drained our claim to be the provider of cultural community benefits. Perhaps, in the end, Slater Hall will be able to do what we did. In the meantime, local people will continue to commute to Greenville for dance, theater, drawing, painting, film, animation, community cafe, computer workshops, artists gallery and studios, craft bank, all the things we offered - as well as local control. Blue Wall Group will move on to other projects, but for now, thank you and farewell!

In a few years, Slater-Marietta may be transformed by the arrival of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. In a few months, Slater Marietta Arts Center will certainly be demolished, unless local people decide they want to repair the roof. In that case, there will be no community cafe, food co-op, craft bank, art gallery or studios when the cyclists, runners, and strollers arrive to enjoy our little village.

This Sunday - second meeting of the Travelers Rest Town Play group. Come and help plan, devise and write a show about TR that will be performed EVERY YEAR and grow and evolve - 3pm at My Sister's Store in downtown TR. Everyone welcome.
