Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We are so excited to see our classrooms, hallways, and playgrounds filled with energy, curiosity, and smiles once again.
This year, our top priority is ensuring every student has the support they need to thrive. The most important step to a successful year begins with a simple habit: showing up on time, every single day.
Why Every Day Matters
When students are here, they build deep friendships, participate in hands-on activities, and stay on track with their learning.
We know that life happens—illnesses come up, and family emergencies occur. However, missing just two days of school a month adds up to 18 missed days a year. This is known as chronic absenteeism, and it quickly creates learning gaps that can make school feel stressful for your child.
Whether an absence is excused or unexcused, the lost learning time is exactly the same.
Our Commitment to You
We want to partner with you to break down any barriers keeping your child from getting to school.
We will track attendance closely: We monitor daily data to celebrate consistency and catch early drops.
We will communicate early: If your child misses a few days, we will reach out to check in and see how we can help.
We offer support: If transportation, health, or anxiety are making attendance difficult, please contact our front office. We can connect you with school resources and counselors.
Tips for a Strong Routine
Set consistent bedtimes: Help your child get enough rest to wake up refreshed.
Prep the night before: Lay out clothes and pack backpacks before going to sleep.
Have a backup plan: Identify a trusted neighbor, friend, or relative who can help with drop-off if your morning routine gets disrupted.
Let’s work together to make this year full of growth, connection, and success. Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to your child's education!
Warmly,
Abby Hearn
