Marietta Middle School Orchestra

It’s been a whirlwind of a week leading up to the last day! Students got to do an instrument swap day 🎻 and teach each other their instruments! Then, we created some sheet music art to reflect on the message and mood of the music we played this past year. Finished out the week with some game time and karaoke! ✌🏻bye 2025-2026! Looking forward to a great school year in the fall 👋

🎨🎭🎶 BIG news for Georgia students and fine arts education!

Yesterday, Governor Kemp signed SB 556 into law, expanding HOPE Scholarship rigor recognition to include qualifying advanced fine arts coursework in dance, music, theatre, and visual art.

This legislation supports students pursuing rigorous fine arts pathways while strengthening connections to Georgia’s growing creative industries. Thank you to the educators whose feedback helped inspire this effort and to our state leaders for supporting opportunities that prepare students for life.

We had a fun performance and day at Six Flags on Saturday! Our combined orchestra received a Silver rating at the Southern Star Music Festival! A fun way to end the year. Special thanks to Mrs. Bowie for joining us!

Announcing the Marietta Orchestra t-shirt design contest for the 2026-2027! Next school year marks the 10 year anniversary of the Marietta city schools orchestra program. The 2026 spring orchestra/chorus trip is off to an amazing start! The students enjoyed their masterclass at University of Central Florida with Mr. Fanara. Now ready to take on the parks at Universal Studios 😎🎻

Super proud of 7th grade violinist Tylor! Today he had the opportunity to participate in GMEA district 12 Honor Orchestra. Honor orchestra is an auditioned group and brings together the top students from Cobb and Marietta middle schools for two days of music making. Congrats on an amazing performance!! 🎻

Only managed to get pictures during our walk of fame (shoutout to for cheering us on!) but 🤩 wow 8th grade advanced orchestra rocked at LGPE today! Very proud of the hard work they put in, as well as the focus and energy they brought to the performance! Way to go 🥳🎻
