Here are the show-and-tell pictures from last week's guild meeting. Presenters were Mark McClurg who has been doing some laser cutting and engraving with some new equipment, John Hofstetter with a cute little "happy greeter" automaton, Carter Gibson showed some cutting boards and a shelf, and finally Jeremiah Warner displayed a stool bath shelf/book holder for his wife.

The Woodworkers Guild recently had a great symposium with James Wright. He talked to us about all things hand tools, with a particular emphasis on sharpening. It was a very educational and entertaining day. If you are not familiar with him, you can check him out at https://www.woodbywright.com/

Last Thursday night's meeting had some very nice show-and-tell items from Noor Abbady, Milton Miller, Jeremiah Warner, Bob Scott and Hans Meier. Our members make some awesome things out of wood and are very generous with showing their work and processes! If you haven't been to a meeting, you should check us out sometime.

The featured speaker at the May WWGofGA meeting was Hans Meier. Hans is a very accomplished scroll saw craftsman and brought in a wide variety of examples of his fine work. It was a very enjoyable and educational meeting!

Several members of the Woodworkers Guild of Georgia helped break down a load of lumber into bed parts for "Sleep in Heavenly Peace", a non-profit that builds beds for kids in need of a place to sleep. The parts will now move on to another volunteer build day where they will be processed further for final assembly. It was a very rewarding day helping a very worthwhile organization. Thanks to Woodcraft Atlanta for letting us use their facilities!

Over the weekend, the Board of Directors of The Woodworkers Guild of Georgia held an in-person planning meeting at the East Roswell Recreation Center, where we will be holding most of our monthly meetings in the near future. Lots of good ideas were discussed and plans for the upcoming months were made. Along those lines, we are open to hearing any suggestions as to what you might like to see either from our social media posts or in the way of guild activities. Either comment here or email [email protected] with any suggestions. Thanks for following us and we look forward to any input that you might have!
