LOVE CAN BE A GARDEN: CELEBRATING IDENTITY, SELF-ACCEPTANCE, AND LOVE IN POETRY

Love, like poetry, takes many different forms and shapes with varying patterns and repetitions. As humans, we seek all manner of love—love of a significant other, love from our family, love of community, love of place, spiritual love, and love of self. In this love, we find the joy and strength to love ourselves even when others may not. This is true whether we may identify as LGBTQ+ or not. In celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride Month, this poetry session will focus on love in all its forms and shapes, and how poetry teaches us to love who we are. We welcome everyone into the space of the Learning Lab at CAC's Maricopa Campus Learning Center to write, share, and to be in community. Stop in and write! There will also be some time for participants to share in an open mic setting.
