Dr. Kings dream lives on through us ♥️
In our play room we have this beautiful custom art work of Dr. King that was gifted to us by a dear friend and this image is a daily reminder of the work that must continue, each day, through each of us to keep Dr. Kings dream alive. The dream he had, and the sacrifices he and his family made in order to make that dream come true for our country is something we can never forget or repay. His dedication to justice, equality and dignity for all people is one reason why Masai’s Playhouse can be today! Our playroom has been filled with the joy and laughter of friends of all colors and backgrounds. We can’t imagine not having experienced the joy of each of those children simply because of laws set in place due to a difference in our skin tones.
If you have never heard Dr. Kings “I have a dream” speech or if you have heard it a million times, listen today. Listen with purpose and intent, to the strength and emotion in his voice as he repeats "I have a dream". Listen with a heart of understanding to the cries of a people, asking only to be treated with fairness and equality regardless of color, religion or beliefs. His dream is my dream, and the dream of all black and brown people who only wish to live in peace and harmony with their fellow man. Today I encourage you to remember his words and his dream and know that we are all living in a better world because of his work and the work of so many others that sacrificed their lives in the name of freedom, justice, equality and peace.
