A strong community starts with strong schools🏫

At yesterday's Community Leaders Luncheon, we brought together local and state leaders, our Governing Board, school principals, and parent representatives to share what's working in MUSD, provide facts about Prop 416 and Prop 320, and highlight the opportunities ahead for our students. Special thank you to our Maricopa High School Culinary students, under the direction of Chef Greg Mahon, for the delicious lunch🍴

The most important voices in the room belonged to two of our seniors: Leilani Myers of Maricopa High School and James Livingston of Desert Sunrise High School. Their stories, experiences, and aspirations served as a powerful reminder of the impact our schools have every day.

🚨Attention MUSD Families🚨

UPDATE 3:40 PM: All lanes are now open.

🚨TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

A two-vehicle collision has closed traffic in both directions on Honeycutt Road from Porter Road to just past the intersection adjacent to CCV’s campus.

Officers are on-scene now working to clear the crash.

Drivers completing school pick-up at this time are encouraged to use the alternate routes shown on the graphic below and plan extra time.

Access to Heritage's K-8 campus along Honeycutt Road is only available at this time if approaching from White and Parker Road or through the Homestead subdivision. The entrance off Porter Road is not impacted.

Following yesterday’s flag raising ceremony, guests were invited to check out the Desert Sunrise High School Supply Co., a one-stop shop for students and staff to grab a quick beverage, snack, or even a pumpkin spice latte. 🎃☕

The Supply Co. gives DECA students a chance to put their business, marketing and customer service skills into action while serving their school community.

And yes, the pumpkin spice latte is officially on the menu. 👀
