Reminders for the dance TONIGHT!
The time is 6:00-8:00 pm in the MK-8 cafetorium for MK-8 students in grades 5-8. Students must stay until the dance is over.
The cost is $5 to enter, and there will be concessions available for students to purchase.
Students who have received office discipline referrals that resulted in ISS or OSS are not eligible to attend. This does not include bus referrals.
Drop-off will be behind the school. Enter from the car rider lane, turn right behind the elementary gym, and pull forward. Please stay in a single-file car line and have your students exit from the driver's side of your vehicle. Staff will be onsite to make sure your student is dressed appropriately and eligible to attend the dance at the drop off point.
Students will proceed to the cafeteria, where their money will be collected.
Attire should meet our relaxed dress code. Skirts/dresses/tops should be of appropriate length. Spaghetti straps are fine, but no strapless tops or tops/dresses with cut-outs or that are too revealing. No drop pants should be worn.
For pickup, please line up in a single file car line according to the same car rider pick-up procedures we use every day and pull around to the very front of the school. All cars should be in the inside "gold" lane" Students will walk from the cafeteria to the car line until they are all loaded. Once your child is loaded, you may pull out of line and go around those cars who are still waiting. If you have a car rider sign, we'd love for you to use it!

International Dot Day was on Tuesday, September 15th. Students from many grades and classes at MK-8 participated in Dot Day, creating amazing art and leaving their unique marks all over campus! Please enjoy some of our students' artwork from their classrooms and Art with Mrs. Pippin.

Education Starts Local takes on an extra-special meaning when giving back becomes a family moment. ❤️📚

We were proud to present an Education Starts Local donation to Mrs. Carnley of Marianna K-8 School, pictured here with her mom, Beth Beasley, Sales Consultant at Marianna Chevrolet GMC.

This presentation was an especially sweet moment for Beth, as Mrs. Carnley is her daughter and is in her first year as an educator! 🥹❤️ Even though Mrs. Carnley was selected by one of our customers who worked with another member of our sales team, it turned into a wonderful surprise for Beth to be the one presenting the donation to her daughter.

That’s what we love about Education Starts Local — it has a way of creating meaningful moments while supporting the educators and schools that matter most to our community.

MK8 Cross County team competed at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday, August 29th, in Thomasville, GA. Lennox Hodge won first place in the 2-mile race with approximately 200 competitors in the event. Way to go, Lennox!
