Company Commander, Grace Ernsberger, spoke at the Morrow County Fair Tribute to Veterans event yesterday afternoon alongside some area titans: Capt Frank HIckman, Col Mark Parsons, Col Jennifer Kimmey, Bruce Fissell, and Ray Brenneman to name a few. It was a great event coordinated by the Morrow County Joint Veterans Council (MCJVC) with the pavilion filled with many other area veterans and organizations with the Highland Scots Marching Band playing the National Anthem, Salute to America's Finest, This is My Country, and Taps.

PFC Elliott Fisher is still doing great things out there, receiving an Army Achievement Medal while serving with the "Crazy Horse Troop" in 1st Squadron of the 4th U.S. Cavalry Regiment at Fort Riley. Keep charging Elliott!

Kickstart wrapped up yesterday with an intro to PT, some teamwork dodgeball and overturned boat exercises, drill, and concluded with introductory orienteering. The Cadets that completed all three days of Kickstart were promoted to Cadet Seaman Apprentice, received their first ribbon for Kick Start, and were treated to ice cream at Highland Pizza. Well done, All!

Day 2 of Kickstart and Open House complete. It was a great day/night and we really enjoyed meeting more of the Cadets and their families as well as reuniting with some of the returning Cadets! For Day 2, the incoming NS1s finished their initial uniform outfitting, learned a bit about wear and upkeep, practiced some more drill, and got their initial drone flight hours in (at least initial for most). There were a couple that clearly had some prior experience. We will have a brief graduation ceremony tomorrow after the third and final day of Kick Start as well as a promotion ceremony for those that made it to all three days of events.

We have another great group of Cadets coming into the program this year. Haeleigh Brenneman, Ari Capel, Emma Dulebohn, Lilly Hayslip, Ashanti Henderson, Selena Jones, Darian Keith, Re*****on Looker, Jayce Scholz, and Brayden Willaford all came out today for Day 1 of NJROTC Kick Start and obtained their initial uniform issue. STAFF then taught them a few basic drill commands. Thank you Mia Arick, Grace Ernsberger, Evalie Hickman, Ash Mendez, and Alex Smith for your planning and ex*****on to make this run so smooth. More to follow tomorrow!

We have received further word from our former Supply Officer, Riley Frazee, that she is doing awesome at Great Lakes! She is in high spirits and is confident that her Division will obtain the Battle E and potentially get into the Hall of Fame. Graduation day is 10SEP! If you would like to send her some words of encouragement to get her through the last two weeks, and the final Battle Stations test in particular, her address is:

Tonight’s Color Guard for Varsity Football vs Fredericktown was presented by Braylin Romshak (National), Lexi Kemmer (Navy), Aubrey Kanagy (right rifle), and Emily Stevens (left rifle). Well done getting us back into the swing of things as the 2026 fall sports season “kicks off.”

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate for tonight’s boys and girls soccer games. Regardless, Braylin Romshak, Elliott Rothenhauser, and Gigi Keen were on scene and ready to go!
