Last night a few former students of Pat House spent some time with her at the Kentucky Shakespeare's A Midsummers Night's Dream. We also shared with her the endowment her former students started in her honor with the Community Foundation of Crawford County.
Grants from the endowment will be available to teachers at the Crawford County High School (and others in the corp) to help underwrite literary experiences. Many students looked forward to the field trips she planned to the Derby Dinner Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville, or the Kentucky Center for the Arts, where the words they read and the themes they analyzed came alive. For many, it was their first exposure to the theatre and sparked a life-long appreciation of literature.
Our hope is we can continue to raise donations to the fund to fully underwrite several experiences. We invite you to contribute to the fund. https://www.cf-cc.org/donate-now.html (you must send the confirmation to [email protected] and indicate it's for the Pat House fund)
Thank you to those who helped us establish the fund.
