English spelling and pronunciation have been arguing for centuries. If you’ve ever wondered, “Why do they write one thing and say another?” — relax.

Take “table.”
Looks polite, predictable… until you say it.
The “-ble” becomes “-bul.”
Not “tay-bull.” Not “tay-bleh.”
It’s “tay-bul.”

Same with “apple,” “little,” “jungle,” “circle,” and dozens more that look normal until your mouth tries to say them.

It’s like spelling shows up in a tuxedo and pronunciation arrives in pajamas eating cereal.

Here’s the secret: English sounds don’t obey letters.
Spelling is a museum.
Pronunciation is a street festival.

Pronunciation drops letters, swallows vowels, and cuts endings like it’s late for work. That’s why native speakers sound natural — they follow rhythm, not rules.

“Want to” → “Wanna.”
“Going to” → “Gonna.”
“Did you” → “Dijuh.”

English is jazz.
The letters are outdated sheet music.

Once you stop expecting pronunciation to match spelling, everything gets easier. Nobody says words the way they’re written.

A escrita e a pronúncia do inglês brigam há séculos. Se você já pensou: “Por que escrevem uma coisa e falam outra?” — relaxa.

Veja “table.”
Parece certinha… até você falar.
O “-ble” vira “-bul.”
Não é “téi-bôl” nem “téi-blê.”
É “téi-bul.”

E acontece com “apple,” “little,” “jungle,” “circle,” e várias outras.

É como se a escrita viesse de terno e a pronúncia chegasse de pijama comendo cereal.

O segredo: os sons não obedecem às letras.
A ortografia é museu.
A pronúncia é carnaval.

Ela derruba letras, engole vogais e corta finais como quem está atrasado. Por isso os nativos soam naturais — seguem o ritmo, não regras.

“Want to” → “Wanna.”
“Going to” → “Gonna.”
“Did you” → “Dijuh.”

Inglês é jazz.
A escrita é partitura velha.

Quando você para de tentar combinar pronúncia com escrita, tudo f**a mais fácil. Ninguém fala como está escrito.

This video addresses a common objection to sola scriptura which contends that if tradition is not an infallible authority, then it is not a genuine authority...
