For a quick overview:
LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) certified Volume 1 and 2. This is training about the "how and why" to deliver a more structured method of literacy instruction that follows the Science of Reading approach. Many districts, including Marcellus, have been providing this training and implementing this method in recent years.

I hold my Masters in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) and a Masters in Literacy: Birth-12th Grade. I have several years of experience as a reading intervention provider at all grade levels. From 2018 to present time, I have been an Literacy Instructional Coach for a district in Oswego County.

My experience includes working with students diagnosed with dyslexia of all ages, providing extra support to homeschool families, helping to prevent a complete "summer slide", etc.

I have my NYS Dual Certification in Literacy for Birth - 6th grade and 5th - 12 grade. I am LETRS trained in Volumes 1 and 2 (follows Science of Reading approach) and have worked with dyslexic students of all ages. I have also worked for several years as an Intervention Reading Teacher (K-12) and as an Instructional Coach helping districts transform their reading curriculum to be more effective.

This is why students - of any ability, age, skill level - deserve customized instruction, which can be difficult for schools to deliver. It is also why I love to support learning however I can with tutoring!!
