Now offering TWO Senior Fitness classes - Silver Swans (a senior ballet class designed for age 55+) & Senior Barre Fitness (designed to build strength, improve balance and mobility).

For those who want more of a challenge - Barre, Intermediate/Advanced Adult Ballet, Sculpt - will leave you sweaty, fatigued and smiling.

This afternoon we begin to welcome back students of dance, music and art for fall semester! If you haven't enrolled, there is still time! Our school of music stays open for enrollment year-round (depending on availability). Youth dance will remain open until Sept 15. Art will remain open another month as well. Space is limited in all classes, and many have closed due to roster capacity. But there are still spaces available!! Hop on to harmonyarts.org to enroll!!

Welcome (back) to Emma Porterfield! Emma began dancing at Harmony at age 9 and trained in ballet and pointe, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, tap and Folklorico. Over the course of her dancing career she has had the opportunity to work with numerous summer programs at Pacific Northwest Ballet, American Ballet Theater Austin, American Ballet Theater Chicago, Ballet Austin, Grainger Academy at Joffrey Ballet Chicago, American Academy Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Texas Ballet Theater, and Texas Metropolitan Ballet.

She began teaching with us again this summer, so this is a belated 'welcome back.' She is a well-rounded dancer, and it feels like home to have her back. She'll be teaching with us on Tuesdays this fall - Creative Ballet/Tap, Pre-Ballet 2, and Beginner Jazz/Tap. She will also be representing us at our new partner program with , teaching beginner ballet for their enrichment afternoons once a week. Welcome home, Emma!

We are SO excited to announce Shelly Knapp as our new voice instructor at Harmony! She has been a singer her whole life and has a ton of performance experience, particularly with country western and gospel music. She has the gift of encouragement and teaches vocal confidence and performance well. And - fun fact - Shelly served in the Marines from '89-'93!! She will be offering private lessons on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Find out more on our website - harmonyarts.org/music - or reach out to us in office to ask about her availability. Meet Lindsey! Lindsey is a life-long artist. She is inspired by all types of art and will be teaching all levels art this year! She loves reading, painting and spending time with friends and family. Her husband, Taylor, and she have a son (Coit) and daughter (Camille) and were parents to a Harmony student prior to her coming on staff. We are thrilled to bring her energy and love for art to our team!

Makes plans to join her for one of her weekly classes for children - Creative Spaces for ages 5-7 and Youth Art for ages 8-11. Both classes have the same curriculum line up with age-appropriate projects lined up.
Month 1: Basic Color Theory - Exploring primary, secondary colors and what emotions they create and inspire when used together, apart and more!
Month 2: Art as a form of Therapy - We'll teach how to use art to paint their feelings, slow their breathing, slow down their thoughts, collage to release anxiety, and add inspiration to their life.
Month 3: Art History - Learn about artists from history and study their style through imitation. Picasso (painting what we see in abstract), Van Gogh (painting outside or flowers inside), Frida (Dia de Mu***os), Po***ck (messy!)
Month 4: Sculpture & More!
