📍 **Toddler Classroom (18 Months – 3 Years)**
🕢 **Hours:** Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

**Responsibilities Include:**
🧸 Planning and implementing engaging weekly lesson plans
📚 Completing child observations and developmental assessments
❤️ Maintaining the safety, health, and well-being of every child
🚽 Supporting and encouraging children through potty training
🎨 Creating a fun, organized classroom where learning flows naturally
🤗 Laughing, playing, reading stories, singing songs, and sharing plenty of hugs and snuggles (when welcomed and appropriate)
💬 Building positive, professional relationships with families through strong parent-teacher communication
🌈 Remaining calm, patient, and nurturing while helping children learn new skills and navigate big emotions
✨ Working collaboratively with your team and embracing new tasks as needed

**Qualifications:**
✔ Must meet the **New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS)** requirements for a Lead Teacher in a child day care center.
✔ Candidates must meet one of the approved OCFS education and experience pathways, including:

* An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field with the required experience; **or**
* At least **9 college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development** with an approved **plan of study leading to the completion of an Associate's degree**, along with the experience required by NYS OCFS regulations.
✔ Ability to create and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum.
✔ Strong understanding of child development and positive guidance techniques.
✔ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with families and coworkers.
✔ Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) and the ability to complete all required NYS background checks and mandatory trainings.

💙 **We're looking for someone who:**
✔️ Is at least 16 years old
✔️ Has childcare experience or experience working with children
✔️ Can pass a background check and health screening
✔️ Loves working with children and helping them learn and grow
✔️ Is patient, reliable, and able to multitask
✔️ Has strong communication skills
✔️ Can work well with a team and independently when needed
✔️ Is willing to learn and grow in the early childhood field
✔️ Is flexible and willing to assist in different classrooms as needed

📚 **Responsibilities Include:**
• Assisting teachers and children during afternoon activities and routines
• Supervising and engaging children in a safe, nurturing environment
• Relaying important messages and information from morning staff to parents at pick-up
• Helping maintain classroom organization and cleanliness throughout the afternoon
• Assisting with closing duties

🧹 **Closing Duties (5:30 PM – 6:00 PM):**
• Cleaning and sanitizing classrooms and common areas
• Preparing the center for the next day's activities
• Ensuring the building is tidy, organized, and ready to welcome children the following morning

At Doodle Bears, we make a lasting impact on young lives, inspiring a sense of belonging that extends far beyond our walls. Our presence in their lives is truly cherished by both. So much so they share moments of firsts with us or exciting things that bring them joy when they are away.

This is one of those moments! Our precious preschooler beamed with pride as she received her first ribbon at today's horse show, and her excitement to share it with us warmed our hearts.

The amount of heart and love that goes into our day-to-day is truly something to celebrate. We are a safe place and love all as our own. Through the hard days, we carry all the hugs, kisses, silly stories, and excitement when we accomplish something new, wipe away tears, and nourish those on sad days and with boo-boos. We are thankful each day for parents allowing us to protect their most precious things throughout the days. We will always celebrate and support you through hugs and a listening ear as we watch your child grow.

Beyond thankful today and every day for all the young women at the center taking on such big roles with such love, grace, and grit. Showing up every day as if it's a new day is something to celebrate. Thank you, everyone, for being a part of our Doodle Bear Family ❤️
