Sports Update for Mon Aug 31: All softball games canceled due to field conditions, Cross Country practice canceled due to Pima County field closure, Tackle Football IS practicing, Volleyball SEASON canceled due to low enrollment, Flag Football IS playing their game @ Dove Mountain K8.

Math meets movement! Our 8th grade math students, led by Ms. Clark, Ms, Chin, and Dr. Faidley, completed a scavenger hunt to demonstrate their knowledge of simplifying expressions with exponents. Students worked through problems, checked their answers, and used their math skills to track down the next challenge! 🐾

Tough battle for our Cougars! The TMS tackle football team played hard and competed with heart against Pusch Ridge. While we didn’t get the win, we’re proud of the way our Cougars fought until the final whistle! 🏈

Tortolita Boys and Girls Cross Country runners traveled down to Rio Rico tonight to compete against multiple schools in the Rich River Rattler! Despite not being able to practice this week and a delayed start due to weather, the athletes did amazing and 3 of our athletes brought home medals!

In the girls race, Haley D. finished 23rd with a time of 13:15.4 and Haven R. finished 35th with a time of 14:19.6 which is a personal best!

In the boys race, Connor H. finished 15th with a time of 10:51.2!

All of the kids did amazing in tough circumstances and made their coach very proud of them today. Can't wait to see how they improve throughout the season!

Ultimate frisbee final! Our PE students brought the energy with major effort and maximum participation! It was awesome to see students working together, competing hard, and giving it their all!

Blue team earned it! Thanks to having the most Cougar Cards drawn in August, the Blue team earned some well-deserved community building time in the gym! Our WEB student leaders led the fun with games of musical chairs and red light green light. Way to go, Cougars! 🎉

Our ceramics students are showing tremendous growth! This week, students focused on “pinchpot method” for creating the base of their pieces and “score & slip” to add attachments!
