*FALL 2026 UPDATE* The HSA has recently been asked to fund some higher ticket items to help improve the outdoor spaces at MMS including BIKE RACKS and PICNIC TABLES. Bike Racks are $650 each (we'd like to purchase 2) and Picnic Tables (to go in the courtyard near the cafeteria) are $1200 each (we'd like to purchase 4). This is an additional expense to our annual HSA Budget and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Dear Middle School Families,

I want to thank you for your patience, your feedback, and for sharing your concerns regarding the current bookbag policy at our middle schools.

After carefully listening to the concerns that have been raised, I want to share an important update. The bookbag ban will be removed, and students will be permitted to carry a string bag during the school day, including when moving between classes.

I recognize that our students need to be able to comfortably and responsibly carry the items they need as they move throughout their school day. I also understand the importance of maintaining safe and orderly learning environments, and I believe this adjustment provides a thoughtful balance.

The one exception is that students will not be permitted to bring bags into the lunchroom.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and partnership as I continue to listen and make decisions with our students at the heart of our work. I appreciate our families and remain committed to creating school environments where our students feel supported, respected, and ready to learn.

We welcomed back our MMS staff with a delicious lunch from Roman Gourmet and sweet treats! Thanks to the volunteers who helped set up, serve and clean up! We also distributed boxes of tissues to our staff.
