The Board of Education is required to provide round trip transportation between home and school for South Orange and Maplewood resident students in accordance with Policy 8600.
The parent/guardian must complete this application each year for each student even if transportation has been provided in the past. Eligible students will not receive a bus pass until this form is completed and submitted.
Applications must be submitted on or before July 21, 2026. If approved, your transportation information will be available through the PowerSchool Parent Portal beginning August 15, 2026.
�New students registered during the school year will be notified within five working days after the Transportation Department receives the application. The parent/guardian is responsible for getting the child to school until notified in writing whether transportation by the district is available.
Log in to PowerSchool at somsd.powerschool.com and go to FORMS > TRANSPORTATION > TRANSPORTATION REQUEST FORM (SY 26-27). If you do not have access to your Parent Portal account, please contact us at [email protected] for assistance.

A message from our Tuscan Teachers:
Our fearless leaders, Ms. Majeed and Mr. Calissi, are sadly leaving us and beginning new positions within the district. We are so deeply sad to see them both go and want to send them off with love and well wishes!
You can upload images and/or videos of you or your student(s) wishing them well, sharing memories or just thanking them for their dedication to Tuscan. Submissions will be put together into one video gift and shared with Ms. Majeed and Mr. Calissi as a surprise.
Please join us in celebrating all the ways they have shown us the "Tuscan Way" through the years!

Please wear the colored shirts listed below on Friday, June 12th. The entire school sets up on the blacktop for an epic Rainbow Photo!

The next time you’re at CHS, stop by seat L14 to say hi to Jolene. Our beloved crossing guard, Jolene Corry, passed away suddenly last June. Jolene has been a constant at the Osborne & Harvard intersection since December of 2009. She was a Maplewood resident. Thank you to Achieve Foundation’s Take a Seat program for keeping her memory alive.

Starting preschool or kindergarten is a thrilling (and a seriously ADORABLE) major milestone. But it can also be anxiety-inducing, especially for families of children with disabilities. Join us on Tuesday, May 26th, to learn more about what to expect next year and how to help your child (and YOU!) ease the transition to a new environment with new expectations. Our panel of district supervisors, school staff members, and veteran parents will share tips and strategies and lead the discussion.
