Before our Maple Valley students return for a new school year, our instructional staff are spending time learning, practicing, collaborating, and preparing together.

Professional development gives our team the opportunity to strengthen instructional practices, align around shared expectations, and make sure we're ready to meet each student with the individualized support, high expectations, and quality instruction they deserve.

Summer may look different for everyone...

For our campers, it meant three weeks of academic learning, social-emotional skill building, friendship, creativity, and fun.

For our School Director, it meant three weeks immersed in the Morningside Summer Institute, learning alongside educators from across the globe about research-based instructional practices that improve student outcomes. The institute combines classroom practicums with coaching, workshops, and training in instructional design, fluency-building, and evidence-based teaching methods.

At Washington Spectrum Schools, we believe that investing in our educators is one of the best investments we can make in our students.

We can't wait to bring these ideas into our classrooms this year!

Summer camp is about so much more than keeping busy.

It's about building confidence.
Making new friends.

Over the past three weeks, our campers did all of that and more.
