Children don’t just learn about nature. They learn through it. 🌿

Forest Schools gives children the time and space to move through a natural cycle of learning:

🔎 Explore through curiosity, investigation and discovery.

🌱 Experience through hands-on challenges that turn ideas into real-world learning.

🌳 Grow through reflection and repetition, building confidence, resilience and independence.

Rather than simply being given the answers, children are encouraged to discover, question and make sense of the world through meaningful experiences.

Because some of the most powerful learning happens when children have the freedom to explore, experience and grow.

Children learn differently when they’re given the chance to actually 𝗱𝗼. 🌿

Hands-on learning gives children opportunities to experiment, make choices, solve problems and learn from what happens next.

Instead of simply being shown the answer, they become active participants in the learning process. They can try something, adapt their approach and try again, building confidence and independence along the way.

The adult’s role becomes less about directing every step and more about creating the right environment, offering support when needed and giving children space to discover what they’re capable of.

Because meaningful learning isn’t always about being told how. Sometimes, it comes from discovering “I can do this myself.” 🌳
