This week, we continue learning about the seven continents, this time focusing on South America. The children have engaged in various activities such as sculpting the continent with homemade clay, designing flags of Argentina and Chile, discovering famous landmarks like Machu Picchu and Christ the Redeemer, and making a world map featuring the seven continents. Plus we enjoyed the beautiful weather alongside the start of the season of Spring!

Montessori Language and Composition

Encouraging young minds to explore the world of language and composition is a core aspect of our Montessori philosophy. Through engaging activities and hands-on experiences, children learn to express their thoughts and ideas through writing. Starting with the basics of phonetic sounds, our students utilize moveable alphabets to spell out words, focusing on the process rather than striving for perfection in spelling.

As children gain confidence, they progress from crafting simple sentences to weaving intricate stories and poems. The joy of self-expression and the sense of achievement that comes with completing a piece of writing independently or with minimal guidance is truly rewarding for both the child and the educators.
