The beginning of the school year brings reunited friends and new friendships. Learning how to be a friend is something we all need. This lesson is something we do annually and one of our favorites. This is one of many ways we teach children how our words and actions can make others feel. In Montessori we learn through our senses. We used a silk pillowcase for children to feel and connect the feeling with their hands to how someone's kind words or actions might make them feel good or happy. We used a prickly therapy pillow to show how someone's words or actions might hurt someone's feelings.

Admittedly we are not strong gardeners. Every year we bring new hope, excitement, and introduce new classroom plants. Meet Monte II and Sori II. We try to have our plants not be lessons in the cycle of life 😂. 🤞
