This year, Weaver received a generous donation from the District 279 Foundation for more Wipebook whiteboard surfaces and erasers for students to use during their math time. This allows us to continue work with Building Thinking Classrooms in math in which students are up out of their desks, standing at erasable surfaces working collaboratively on progressively harder math problems. Thank you, District 279 Foundation!

🐾 Math meets creativity in the fifth grade! 🐾

Our amazing fifth graders have been working hard on their "Volume Animals" project. First, they researched their chosen animal, then they brought them to life using 3D boxes. 📦

The final challenge? Putting their math skills to the test by calculating the total volume and surface area of their creations!
