JDCCF had their Halloween Parade on Friday with a festive stroll through the Administration office as the Arc Department employees both dressed in costume and handed out many wonderful treats for all the children to enjoy. On Halloween day, the children creatively decorated their own pumpkins to take home and enjoy with their families.

A Message From The Arc of New Jersey:

I am very happy to confirm the $4.3 million appropriation, labeled as COVID respite in the Department of Children and Families, is in fact meant to increase respite hours for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As per the confirmation we received this afternoon from the Governor's Office, the funds will be used to provide additional, one-time respite services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families who are eligible for services through the Children's System of Care.

This line item is being funded with monies from the American Rescue Plan. We are very glad to see the Legislature recognized our advocacy on this matter and that the Governor maintained the legislative add-on. I want to thank everyone who participated in our June action alert and who supported our effort to increase the respite hours.

As we learn any additional details regarding implementation of these funds, we will be sure to pass that along. Thank you again for your continued support of our advocacy work.
