10 years in the books!
Today is the 10 year anniversary of Portage Music Lessons. This started as a dream to get out of a job I couldn’t stand and my pursuit of “making it” in music, whatever that’s supposed to mean. I didn’t know what to expect. Should I expect to be driving fancy cars or would I be just scraping by? Just that I wanted to do it and I would figure everything out from there. I was 23, the adult world was pretty new.
Fast forward all these years we have had over 2000 students come through the doors for private or group lessons and we have roughly 350 students currently active in private lessons.
Two locations that are busy and serve Portage and Geauga County, with our Hudson location opening today. Talk about a 10 year celebration, let's start all over with a new place!
Growing up my parents always worked hard and showed me the value of putting your head down and working through it, even if we didn't always have an abundance, they always worked hard through whatever. I’ve carried that same hard work into what we do here. We are dedicated to students, parents and my teachers to have an awesome experience.
No matter what the future throws at us you can guarantee PML values will never change, we will always provide fun, engaging lessons for students at an affordable price from the best teachers we can find. In my mind music should be something everybody should have access to, music makes us human! Learning something you love should put a smile on your face!
Lastly, thank you. From the people who took one lesson to try us out in 2016, or the people that have been with us since then, my teachers who have been in the trenches grinding out the long days, you helped the little studio that could. We were one room and 5 students. I hope that I can write an even more heartfelt letter in another 10 years to give everyone an update! My mission continues, an artist’s work is never done.
