Manteno High School has once again been ranked among the best high schools by US News and World Report. This is a testament to our staff, students, parents, and entire community. This year's rankings include #2 in Kankakee County and being in the top 17% of high schools in the state and nation. We are incredibly proud of what our Panthers continue to accomplish! Career Center classes start tomorrow 8/13!

Buses will leave promptly from MHS at 8:05 AM. It is highly encouraged that all KACC students attend as important information and material will be covered. Driving is allowed only for early bird/zero slot hour students and third slot Aviation students. Contact your counselor with any questions.

We are matching up the participants who were not able to join us with Big Sisters and Mrs. Harrod and Mrs. Kaufman look forward to activities and furthering the program!

This year, some of Miss Frame's Spanish 2 and 3 students visited UareU Preschool to teach their students Spanish! The high schoolers taught them their colors, numbers, and body parts along with some Easter words and the names of their favorite animals. The big kids also taught them a fun song and proudly joined the little learners on stage to perform it at their end-of-year program. It was a wonderful experience for both the preschoolers and high school students! A special thanks to our high school Spanish students for being so enthusiastic and caring with their new little friends!

Three of our 10th grade English classes teamed up with three of our 2nd grade classes for a phonics collaboration activity. The 10th grade visited the elementary school in April and were taught various phonics concepts by the 2nd graders. Then the 10th graders invited the 2nd graders to the high school yesterday, to share activities and games they created, to reinforce specific phonics concepts the 2nd graders have been studying. It was a fun way to get out of the traditional classroom and learn/teach in a different format. We had a lot of fun reading to the 2nd graders after the work was done and of course enjoying a popsicle, too!
