Day 3 of convention went well, even though it was cut short for us due to the probability of weather related events. We had planned to go to the zoo and explore after sessions today. The delegates assisted in voting for the new State FFA Officer Team this morning, while we watched and listened to each of the speeches given. Congratulations to the 2026 Illinois State Officer Team, along with all the students and schools that were recognized for their accomplishments.

This year the MHS art dept. was gifted overhead outlets over our tables! (Thanks Alec, Justin and more!)
Naturally, we painted in black light with fluorescent paints. My cellphone cam couldnt quite adjust, so here's some pics of our work in regular light... you'll have to use your imagination.
Inspired by Peter Max, Art Nouveau, and the 1960's in general, here's our blacklight paintings!

Ag Mechanics finished the year with welding a cube using skills learned in class, along with an independent project using all skills learned throughout the year! Here’s a few photos of their projects. Students that did not have a project, helped build fences for Ag Day for next year.

MHS Advanced Art classes recently finished their all-original comic book covers. Students who created covers last year had the option to create a page from a book (and tell a piece of their story). This project quickly became a fan favorite a few years ago. Take a look!

MHS Advanced Art students recently created editorial cartoons. Sometimes referred to as political cartoons, they're cartoons that express an opinion. Visual communication was helped along this time by some impressive pen and ink techniques! Take a look at a few highlights from this unit!
