We'd like to thank all the families and students who attended our Open House last night! It was a great opportunity to drop off supplies and for teachers, students, and families to meet and start the year on a positive note.
On the eve of a new school year, we also wanted to wish a Happy First Day of School to our MES students and staff! We are excited to welcome back our students tomorrow (August 19th), and we look forward to another great year at Manteno Elementary School! Your Journey Starts HERE!

Manteno CUSD No. 5 is pleased to introduce Mr. Brandon Owens as Principal of Manteno Elementary School. Mr. Owens is an experienced educator and is excited to be working with our organization!

A message from Mr. Owens -

Manteno Families,

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Manteno Elementary School. I am honored to join such a great school, district, and community, and partner with you in supporting your children’s education.

This past school year, I completed my 20th year in education and my 13th year in administration. I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of roles: teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent.

Over the last 17 years, my wife and I have called Manteno home. We have three boys who attend Manteno schools, and I have experienced firsthand the incredible dedication of our educators and the strength of our community. I am excited to now join Manteno and be fully invested in the success of our school and our district. I look forward to working alongside the staff and families of Manteno as we begin a new school year at Manteno Elementary School.
