We did some fun Thanksgiving things: disguise a turkey, gallery walk with Thanskgiving themed word problems and roll a turkey. That one they had to roll to see how to color each part of their turkeys. 😊 I‘m super thankful for these kids and their families! ❤️ Hope you all have the best weekend spending time with your families.

Today we read the book Bonaparte who is a skeleton whose bones keep falling off. He has friends who keep trying to help, but it wasn’t working. Finally a dog came along and was picking up his fallen bones and giving them back to him. Bonaparte kept the dog. We talked about what idioms are and learned what break a leg, a blessing in disguise, and more really meant. We followed up by introducing some angles and then trying to help Bonaparte stay together.

Yesterday for science we used the concept of force to make chain reactions. The kids were really into this! See the comments for videos of them trying them out. (FB won’t let me add them to the post)

On Halloween we made treat catapults with our creative thinking then we tried them out to see who could get the treat to go the farthest. Some were fails and the kids made some modifications and tried again. They really had fun with this. Prabhman’s was a simple design and the kids couldn’t believe that his went the farthest!
