Calling all St. Peter alumni! 💙
This year marks 50 years of Montessori education at St. Peter, and we're celebrating by gathering for One Final Flip—the last SammyCakes breakfast.

Many of you remember SammyCakes as one of St. Peter's most cherished traditions. For the past 23 years, the Tridico family has welcomed generations of students, families, alumni, and friends to breakfast in loving memory of Sammy, a St. Peter Montessori student whose joyful spirit continues to inspire our community. Through their generosity, nearly $40,000 in scholarships has helped make a St. Peter Montessori education possible for countless children.

Whether you were a Montessori student, a pancake flipper, a volunteer, or simply someone who has been touched by this tradition, we hope you'll join us as we celebrate 50 years of Montessori, honor Sammy's legacy, and thank the Tridico family for the lasting impact they've made on our school.
We can't wait to welcome you back to St. Peter for one final flip. 🥞💙

Mary Ann Ardel Keenan-Croom, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on June 25, 2026, at the age of 72.

Mary Ann was born on December 25, 1953, in Ashland, Ohio, to William James Ardel and Mary Wright Ardel. She attended St. Peter's High School in Mansfield, Ohio, where she played the flute and violin in the band and orchestra, graduating in 1972.

In 1978, Mary Ann relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, where she worked for Minyard's Food Stores for several years. She held every position in the store, working her way up to management. In 1985, she joined Lockheed Martin (then General Dynamics), where she met her future husband, George, while working second shift. Together they made their home in Saginaw, Texas, where they raised their children.

Mary Ann was known for her strong work ethic and often worked overtime to provide for her family. Despite her demanding schedule, she never missed dance recitals, band concerts, football games, karate tournaments, class trips, and countless other activities her children participated in.

After becoming empty nesters, Mary Ann and George became avid cruisers, taking several cruises each year to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, and often "just because." Mary Ann also had a love of teddy bears and proudly displayed her collection throughout her home. Her family and friends happily indulged her passion over the years—perhaps a little too much (if you know, you know).

Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, George Willis Croom III; her daughter, Veronica Ann Green (Stephen) of Carrollton, Texas; son Victor Alexander Keenan (Vera) of Black Hawk, Colorado, and daughter Audria Myshell Croom of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; as well as many other beloved family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William James Ardel and Mary Wright Ardel; her brother, William Joseph Ardel; and her sister-in-law, Tamela Rose Ardel.

A funeral service celebrating Mary Ann's life was held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in White Settlement, Texas.

A Million Dreams. Thirteen years. And somehow, it all feels like it happened in the blink of an eye.

Our Spartan Time Machine captures the journey from first days and tiny backpacks to caps, gowns, and Graduation Sunday — reminding us just how quickly the moments pass.

To the Class of 2026: thank you for the memories, the laughter, the leadership, and the mark you’ve left on St. Peter’s. We are so proud of the young people you have become and cannot wait to see where your dreams lead you next.

Go show the world what it means to be a Spartan. 💙🤍
