The goal of Madison Adult Career Center is to provide adults with new skills that will assist them in gaining successful employment. We have been serving adult learners for over 30 years and currently serve approximately 2,000 adults annually through our various training programs and services. Madison Adult Career Center is a self-supporting entity of the Madison Local School District; therefore, tuition and fees are established to cover operating expenses. Textbooks and supplies are included in the total cost unless otherwise noted. Madison Adult Career Center is committed to the training and service we provide. Maintenance Technician
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you
will support the daily operations of our production, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and
effectively. You will play a crucial role in repairing/maintaining production machinery and handling
materials so we are able to maintain our high standards of service. The ideal candidate will possess
strong leadership skills, time management abilities, and a keen understanding of operational processes.
Electrical knowledge a plus.
Responsibilities
• Assist in managing daily operations to ensure smooth workflow and productivity.
• Implement effective time management strategies to enhance team performance.
• Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms for machinery parts.
• Able to handle times of high stress and time constraints with professionalism
• Be comfortable communicating with Production Supervisor and Management with any issues
that arise
• Understand that your position is important to the workflow of the company and that attendance
is extremely vital.
Requirements
• Extensive experience in machinery repair and maintenance required including electrical and
mechanical
• Assist in break down repairs and PM's of all machinery
• Be able to read schematics and blue prints
• Regularly maintain and record equipment maintenance on forklifts/lift trucks, other equipment
• Perform building maintenance and repairs as needed
• Forklift/Standing Reach Truck experience and/or certification (or be willing to take certification
classes.)
• Material Handling- moving packaging, raw materials and finished products to/from machines
• Assist Production Supervisor with day to day operations as needed
• Be able to step in for Production Supervisor in his absence
• Attend company meetings and be willing to give honest feedback and recommendations to
Management
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Effective and professional communication skills for interacting with team members and external
partners.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to
detail.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on continuous improvement.
