We’ve had the absolute pleasure of having Sensei Jon visit our dojo. Sensei Jon is from Spain and part of the JKA, so he is a true gem to have here in Mansfield.

All of us are extremely impressed with him (you can tell when you zoom in on the students faces🤣) and we are very thankful to have him demonstrate and share his knowledge with us!

REMINDERS

This Saturday is PROMOTION DAY, at the dojo from 11 am - 1 pm (approximately).

- Even if you are not a student, you may find a lot of enjoyment in watching our students, and if you’re interested in karate, this is a great way to see what our school is about.

- We also partner with Relax, It's Just Coffee on our promotion days, and have coupons for 20% off your purchase. Please grab one at the dojo and try some yummy coffee.

Additionally, we are CLOSED on Monday for Labor Day. All classes are cancelled for the day and will resume Wednesday.

One of the fun things the student in our four and year old class get to do is obstacle courses!

Not only does this help with their agility, balance, and spatial awareness, but having the students build the obstacle courses together creates teamwork, communication skills, and turn-taking abilities.

Also, it might just be their favorite part of karate class🤪

Struggling to get your kiddo to practice for karate? Here’s some practice ideas!

- Practice their class warm up drills.

- Do some punches and kicks of different kinds! Roundhouse, side-kick, or front kick.

- Practice stances: back stance, front stance, kiba dachi, cat stance.

- Do push ups, jumping jacks, dead bugs, or jump rope. Anything we would do for strength and conditioning.

- PRACTICE KATA: a student could superset their katas with the basics and their more advanced ones, practice them one-handed, or with advanced timing.

A lovely member of the community dropped off lots of used clothes she no longer needs.

So, we have lots of clothes for babies, boys, and women at the dojo! Please take what you need, or if you know someone in need take items for them. All items are free, just stop in and grab them☺️

We’re so excited to have Shelley and Yo joining us as instructors for our Community Wellness Day on October 17! Together, they'll be leading our Gentle Flow Yoga session; a welcoming, accessible class focused on slowing down, moving with intention, and connecting with your body. Whether you're new to yoga or simply looking for a more relaxing way to move, this class is for you!

Their session is just one part of a morning dedicated to wellness, connection, and giving back to our community. In addition to yoga, attendees can enjoy local vendors and resources, raffles, giveaways, and more!
