We’re excited to announce the 1st Annual Mansfield Mountaineer Baseball Golf Classic, taking place on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Corey Creek Golf Course—officially kicking off Mansfield Homecoming Weekend!

This is more than just a golf tournament. It’s a chance to come home, reconnect with former teammates, coaches, classmates, and friends, celebrate the rich tradition of Mansfield Baseball, and help shape its future.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Mansfield Mountaineer Baseball Program, providing valuable support and opportunities for today’s and tomorrow’s Mountaineers.

Mansfield lost an important member of the university and local community with the passing of Brian Barden on July 25 after a lengthy battle with cancer. A 1982 graduate of Mansfield University, Brian worked in Admissions at Mansfield for 22 years before retiring as the Director of Enrollment Services.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service and visitation beginning at 2 PM on Saturday, August 1 at the Church of the New Covenant in Mansfield.

In his role at the university, Brian helped showcase our campus and our region to generations of Mounties. So many of our incredible alumni are a direct result of his work to recruit students from around the country to Mansfield. Following his retirement, Brian continued to serve his community and his faith while battling cancer.

We are deeply grateful for Brian's decades of service, warm spirit, and enduring impact on our university family. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family, friends, and loved ones during this time.
