The Fake World that is Facebook, Fake Politicians, and Fake Christians: Hello fellow MCS Rebels, you that were scorned, look down upon and judged to be lesser Christians than those who waddled down the halls of MCS, their tiny tracts tucked neatly in their tough-skin jeans or culottes, ready to assault the Richland Mall, Little Capone's and Night Moves. Today I want to tell you about a couple of things that I have encountered in the pretend world that is Facebook, because we all know that this social media site isn't to be taken seriously, and most of the posts on it are 95% BS, and perhaps 5% fact, although that might be pressing it. In other words, don't take anything you see on here as fact. That being said, I have found that one good thing that can be accomplished in this pretend world is the ability to show how fake some people can be, as well as narrow minded and immature, especially those who call themselves Christians. Stay with me, for this is not a post to blast Christians, but rather a post to let those who claim to be, but then come to Facebook and use it as a forum to question other on their beliefs and values and be judgmental because they may not see some things eye to eye. About a month ago, a preacher, who I shall not name, posted a story that in the title was Anyone Who Is A Trump Supporter Is A Bigot and Racist. My first reaction was, WOW, and my second was to think of anyone who might be attending his church, and how he just alienated every single one of them with his posting. To be called a bigot and racist for simply supporting another candidate other than whom he himself supported seemed a bit of a reach to me, but coming from a preacher, a man called by God to represent His teachings, His love, and His life, well, quite frankly I found it to be unacceptable, and me being me, let him know so.I pointed out that as a man of the cloth, like it or not, he should be held to a higher standard, and would be, not just by me, but more importantly, by God. I also pointed out how such postings could have a negative effect on those in his congregation as well as those who might not know him personally as a friend on Facebook, but could still read his post on their friends page. After a few back and forths, in a civilized manner, it was apparent that we were simply on different sides of this issue, so I let things be. Since then I've seen a few other posts basically proclaiming the same thing, but I've chosen not to respond, as I do believe this man has a good heart and we are still friends on here, and there's no since in beating a dead horse. My latest encounter came just yesterday, with an MCS Alumni, and a typical one at that, although not all, least I be accused of stereotyping. It was one of many posts that started If Your A Christian, how can you support Trump, yadda, yadda, yadda. What is it with Christians and Trump?! He than inquired about 3 topics, LGBT/XYZ;s. or whatever they want to call themselves, and this great bathroom controversy that is sweeping this once great nation. Surely, as a Christian, I couldn't support Males going into Female bathrooms, pulling out their tally-whackers to urinate, at the same time my daughter was in there! Well, no I don't support that, but these folks have been using public restrooms for years now, and my daughter or myself have yet to encounter said situation and probably never will. What would I do he asked? Well, as I informed him, my daughter is 17, and I'd probably be in jail if I were in the bathroom with her, wouldn't I? She's a big girl, she's already seen a tally-whacker, I'm pretty sure of it, but it's the law, and I'm obligated to follow the law, even if I don't agree with it. Now if my daughter came out and told me this person was being disrespectful in a perverted sense of way, well, hello jail. The 2nd subject was abortion, yes I know, yawn, but believe it or not, some people are still harping about this subject, even though it's been legal for years. More terrifying is the fact that some people still use this as a gauge for whom they would vote for, as if their political friend could somehow change the laws with a snap of the finger and a good thump of the Bible. Surely, as a Christian, yeah I know, one couldn't support abortions. Again, no, I do not support Abortions. However, I must point out, being a male, I am incapable of the wonderful ability of conceiving a child, which makes it literally impossible for me to have an abortion, thus making this a mute point with me.But surely you have an opinion about it he responded. We, as males, are allowed to have an opinion about this you know. Yep, I know, and you know what they say about opinions, a dime a dozen. OK, so you want my opinion, I'll give it to you. While I'm against abortions, I'm also against telling a woman what she should do with her body. No woman has to answer to me, because I'm not equal to or higher than God, therefore, I'll leave that up to them and the Lord. No knees will be bowing before me on judgement day. Unlike many Christians, I'll leave the judging to a Higher Source. Finally, I know I know, thank goodness, he was appalled that Trump was for raising taxes on the 'rich.' I'm not sure what his definition of rich was, but I'm pretty sure Trump would fall into that category, so in other words, here is a politician saying he was going to raise taxes on himself, and not just the lower or middle class! Eureka! While I know raising taxes on the rich and driving business owners out of business or out of our country is not good business at all, I still marveled at the fact that a politician would be willing to take a hit for once, instead of dishing it out like so many other politicians do. Well, this just infuriated him, and he asked me not to refer to Cruze as Lying Cruze, for it offended him. This, after he had personally attacked my mental capacity for being a Trump supporter, and proclaiming that I was full of hate and anger. I pointed out the irony in such a posted statement. He then asked me not to post on his page again,to which I agreed to do, however, I did ask that he leave our conversation up so others could come to their own conclusions about who was being what. This morning, or perhaps it was late last night, he unfriended me, i think, but I really don't care, and of course, the post has been removed. So to all you who proclaim to be bible thumping Christians, remember, actions always speak louder than words, and no amount of thumping will get you into the Pearly Gates. All politicians are fake to a certain point and don't give a rats ass about you or I in the long run, and just because you may disagree with someones point of view or post, when you respond to someone, it's out there for the whole world to see, and just erasing it doesn't erase the fact that you posted it to begin with.THINK before you post, in fact, THINK TWICE before you post, you'll not only thank me, but Someone Above might just be more thankful that you did!
