The District Mini grant application is up and live on the GSTA website at https://www.georgiascienceteacher.org/ ! The deadline for the 2021 $300 mini-grants sponsored by the Georgia Science Teachers Association is August 31, 2021. We believe that it is important that excellence in science teaching is recognized and rewarded. These grants are specifically designated for GSTA members. Please know that a current membership is a prerequisite for this award.Applications should be submitted via e-mail to [email protected]. Applications and supporting documents should be submitted as a Microsoft Word or PDF attachment and should be submitted electronically by the August 31st due date. More information and requirements are located on the main website.

Where can you find quality PD at such a great value this summer?! North Georgia University is excited to host the annual professional development, Experiential Learning and Inquiry for Physical Science Educators, ELIPSE 7.0. ELIPSE will be a face to face professional learning event on Saturday, June 12 from 8:30 - 4:00 on the UNG Gainesville campus. Registration is $10 for GSTA members, $15 for non-members and $5 for preservice teachers. The conference presents inquiry based strategies and technologies to enhance K-12 student learning. GSTA has scheduled a series of great field trips for the 2020 "Broadening Our Horizon's" 2020 Conference. Field trips include three trips to learn about the geology of the region, Calloway Gardens, the Civil War Naval Museum, Coca Cola Space Museum, Columbus Water Works, and Oxbow Meadows. All of these trips will highlight science and engineering concepts. You can find out more:
