Why I love working with children and families:
I like working with children and families because I like helping people. I also find it very rewarding. I like to know that I am helping families reach their goals while their children are being taken care of in a safe and healthy environment. The rewarding part is seeing smiles on the children's faces everyday!
What make the CDC special to me:
The CDC is special to me because everyone here is like family to me. A lot of us have been her a long time and know each other "inside and out." To me that is special.
Fun fact about me:
I don't know if it's fun but I've lived in Alaska, Texas, Oklahoma, and South Carolina before living in Ohio permanently.

CDC Spotlight: Miss. Heidi Marsh, preschool caregiver and teacher.
Years in child care: 5 1/2 all of those here at the Child Development Center.
Why I love working with children and families:
I want to be who I needed when I was a child. The connection/attachment with my students is one of a kind.
What makes the CDC special to me:
The CDC impacted me so much when I started as a student assistant that I changed my college major from Radiology to Early Childhood Education.
Fun fact about me: My son attends here regularly in one of the infant/toddler rooms.

CDC Spotlight: Ms. Tracy, Head Cook. Years in Child Care: 4 all of which have been here at the Child Development Center.
Why I love working with children and families:
It's a privilege to play a role in children and families lives during these early vital years. Our work here can have an impact on the child's entire life. Plus they say the cutest things! I love when they learn my name and try to say it. Lastly I enjoy cooking nutritious meals for the children. Knowing they will go home each day with full healthy bellies puts a smile on my face.
What makes the CDC special to me:
Here at the CDC I have learned that there is a REAL difference between Early Childhood Development and just "daycare." I have witnessed many amazing leaps in development in so many children and how they flourish under the lave and care here.
Fun fact about me:
I am a fun positive person. I am somewhat of a homebody. I have been married 30 years. I have two grown children and a six year old granddaughter. I would live on the beach if I could. I love the stars at night and the sunshine in the morning. My favorite sound is chirping birds.

CDC Spotlight Ms. Susan, infant/toddler teacher and caregiver. Susan as worked in child care for 27 (including working as a student assistant) years. She has worked at the CDC for 23 (almost 24) years.
Why I love working with children and families:
I knew at a young age that I wanted to be a teacher. It wasn't until I transferred from OSU to NCTC and learned about the Early Childhood program from Nancy Hultz that I realized the infant and toddler age group was my passion. Working beside families to support development milestones is what makes me happy.
What makes the CDC special to me:
I feel like I've grown up here. I started as an infant/toddler practicum student at NCTC and not long after began working here as a student assistant. My husband proposed to me in the Discovery room (now the Imagination room) in October of 1999. We have two boys the experienced a wonderful early education here from infancy through preschool and a season of school-age for my youngest son. God willing I am hoping to retire from the Child Development Center someday.
Fun fact about me:
I sang the National Anthem at a Phillies baseball game and did a Pepsi commercial both with the YMCA youth choir.

CDC Spotlight: Ms. Michelle, Early Head Start Home Visitor. Michelle has worked in Child Care for 25 years 8 of those years have been here at the Child Development Center.
Why I love working with children and families? Children have a way to make us smile and laugh and I love to be around that. Since being a Home visitor I get to go to their home once a week and we really form a bond. I feel like I am a part of their family. I get to work closely with them and see mostly what their day is like. When they leave our program they still contact me to ask questions or share something good that has happened in their life.
What makes the CDC special to me? I have been a part of the CDC family off and on throughout my life. I have been a Head Start teacher here, I did some practicums here, and the last 8 years I have been a Home Visitor here. My grandson was in the Sunshine room and I love all that they taught him and his friends.
Fun fact about me: I love all things Mickey (as in Mickey Mouse)!

CDC Spotlight: Ms. Tara, preschool teacher and caregiver. Ms. Tara has worked in Education and Child Care for 21 years 1.5 of those have been here at the Child Development Center.
Why I love working with children and families? Building relationships to last a lifetime is amazing.
What make the CDC special to me? My oldest daughter (who is 19 now) went here when I worked her 20 years ago.
Fun fact about me: I have coached dance or cheer for about 15 years and I am currently a cheer coach for Ashland High School.
