Mrs. Bistline's second grade, along with Mrs. Argo's kindergarten class, put together 100 Easter goodie bags for nursing home residents. Students made handmade cards for each one. They will be distributed by Crossroads City Center to local nursing homes.

We are prepping the halls for Mifflin's last Literacy Night! Join us THIS Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Dear Families,

Today is the day of our One School, One Book launch for Mifflin Literacy Night! The entire school will be reading The Water Horse by Dick King-Smith. The oldest child in each family that attends Mifflin Elementary will receive a copy of the book for your family. Inside of that book on a pink paper, there will be a reading schedule Please do not read ahead of the schedule. We ask that your family set aside a time to read the assigned chapters each week. Students will also be hearing those same chapters at school. Talk about the book with your child(ren). Make predictions and talk about the characters and the setting. On Friday of each week, each classroom will have a Blooket contest with comprehension questions from the chapters that are assigned that week. If you are reading at home and at school, comprehension will undoubtedly be better! The winner of each classroom will receive a small trinket to remind them of The Water Horse. Have fun with this fiction book and get excited for the LAST Mifflin Literacy Night on March 26, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Good morning Mifflin Families! We will be introducing our One School, One Book to our students on Monday, February 23, 2026! The oldest child in our building for each family will receive a copy of the book to bring home (thanks to a grant we received from The Richland County Foundation). In that book will be a reading schedule. Please read the chapters listed for each of the next four weeks with your child(ren) at home. Classrooms will hold a fun quiz game on each Friday in class. We will also be reading the same chapters at school. We are looking forward to have some great literature conversations as we dive into this mythical story!
