So proud of our Kindergarten students AND veteran SOS kids today! Kindergarten did a plant 🪴 sale project and chose to gift SOS with some of the profits. They delivered $140 to be used to purchase food for those in need at Blake Manor Elementary School in Manor ISD. Diego demonstrated how the bags are packed and discussed the process with them then returned after school to pack the remaining bags while Zoe cheered him on via Zoom.

So happy to feel closer to SOS normal with an in person and remote kid volunteers! Diego helped pack the bags while Morgen Wilson helped online with Lily, Liberty and Zoe updating our inventory spreadsheet. As a team, the remote kids helped to cheer us on as we bagged over 450 individual items into 30 weekend bags. A bottle of Saul Paul Be the Change water included in each bag! Thanks to continued support from Education-Connection.org, we were able to pack and deliver 600 food items to 30 students for the weekend. SaulPaul provided the soundtrack during delivery and Starbucks donated via Manor Texas COVID - 19 Disaster Relief many pastry items that we were able to allow 3rd and 4th grade students who have been working hard 😓 with their academics “shop” for a treat. Their hard work was the currency to get a tasty treat. Thank you to the teachers who work with them every day to help them make progress in these challenging times. Samantha Herzog

Although we have been unable to post our activities recently, 🆘 is still going strong 💪🏽 as an after school service project for students Blake Manor Elementary School in Manor ISD we still provide weekend food bags for 30 students each week and deliver 28 of them to their homes to avoid contamination. with the help of Education-Connection.org Morgen Wilson Haywood House Bettie McCarthy

Our SOS students were able to identify, count and update our inventory spreadsheet for over 2,300 food items all while zooming in from home. They also made decisions about the 818 items that were packed and delivered to the homes of kids in nutritionally challenging situations over the break. Lots of Math this week helps to develop those CEO skills these kiddos will be offering future employers. Thank you Education-Connection.org and Joyce Herzog for the continued support and keeping our inventory current.

SOS is ending the month with donations from family visiting from Virginia and community members, kids working virtually to decide the menu and maintain the electrtonic inventory along with Morgen Wilson and help from Blake ManorElementaryDonna Siepert and Joyce Herzog through packing and delivery with Bettie McCarthy.
