Dear Compass Rose community,

We are closely monitoring the weather alerts. Local radar is currently predicting potential flooding in our area. Some areas we know are more prone to flooding. We encourage parents and staff to use extra caution in their respective areas and use their discretion when traveling to school and work.

As a rule of thumb, we typically follow the closures/delays of neighboring ISDs.

The safety of our students and staff are our top priority. We will continue to monitor and provide an alert for a delay or closure if needed.

Please follow the District social media for updates as they become available.

We are proud of the progress happening across Compass Rose.

The San Antonio Express-News recently highlighted academic gains across our schools as part of its look at this year’s state accountability results.

📈 Six of our seven San Antonio-area campuses increased their scores.
📈 Four improved by at least a full letter grade.

These gains reflect the hard work of our students, educators, school leaders, and families – and the progress that is possible when we work together toward common goals.

There is more work ahead, and we’re excited to keep building on this momentum for every Compass Rose student.

If you are a family in need of a high-quality public school option, we still have limited spots available this fall at our campuses in San Antonio, Bastrop, and Manor. https://compassrosepublicschools.org/enroll/

📣 Carline Placards Begin Tomorrow!

Families, today we began distributing carline placards. Each family will receive a number assigned to their student(s).

Once you receive your placard, please display it clearly in your windshield during dismissal. Staff will use the number to quickly locate and release your child, helping us make dismissal faster, safer, and more efficient.

Thank you for your support and patience as we roll out this new system! 💙💛🦁

Today, we honor Juneteenth.

On June 19, 1865, news of emancipation finally reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Juneteenth is a time to reflect on our nation’s history, celebrate freedom, and recognize the ongoing pursuit of equity and opportunity for all.

Compass Rose Public Schools is closed today, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

We encourage our students, families, and staff to take time to learn, reflect, and celebrate the significance of this important day.

This Teacher Appreciation Week, we invite our community to join us in recognizing the incredible work of our teachers.

Every day, they show up with dedication, patience, and a deep commitment to helping students grow—not just academically, but as confident, capable individuals.
Teaching is meaningful work, but it’s not always easy. It requires resilience, compassion, and unwavering belief in every child, even on the most challenging days.

That’s why your support matters. A kind word, a note of thanks, or a moment of understanding can go a long way. Let’s come together to uplift and encourage the educators who give so much to our students and our community.

Take a moment this week to thank a teacher and show your gratitude!
