MJHS would like to shout a huge 🎉THANK YOU🎉to the Divine Nine (D9) for their generous donation of hygiene supplies!

This community service initiative was spearheaded by the Sumter Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in partnership with D9 organizations serving Sumter, Lee, and Clarendon counties.

The purpose of this effort is to help ensure that students have access to essential personal hygiene items that can support their health, confidence, comfort, and overall well-being. These items are a huge addition to our Monarch Den (formerly known as Clothing and Care Closet) and we are so appreciative!

📣 Dress Code Reminder, MJHS Monarchs! 👑🖤💛

Parents and students, we want to take a moment to remind everyone about our school dress code expectations. We are still seeing a few recurring dress code concerns:

🚫 Midriff showing — Shirts/tops should provide appropriate coverage.
🚫 Head coverings over 2 inches — Please remember the school’s guidelines regarding the size of head coverings.
🚫 Holes above the knees — Jeans and pants with holes or tears above the knee are not permitted.

We appreciate our parents’ support in helping students arrive at school dressed appropriately and ready to learn each day. Please take a moment to check your student’s clothing before they leave home.

🚨 Morning Arrival & Safety Reminder

MJHS Families, we appreciate your patience and partnership as we work to keep all of our scholars safe each morning! 💛🖤

🛡️ Metal detectors are in place at both entrances for student safety. To help the morning arrival process move as quickly and smoothly as possible, please remind your scholar to remove items that may cause the detectors to go off before entering the building, especially:

📚 Binders
💧 Water bottles
📱 Cell phones
🔑 Keys

Having these items ready for screening will help us move students through the entrance more efficiently while maintaining a safe school environment.

⏰ IMPORTANT ARRIVAL TIME:
The back doors will close promptly at 7:40 AM. Arrivals after 7:40 AM are considered tardy.

If your scholar arrives after 7:40 AM, you will need to bring them to the front office to be signed in.

Manning Junior High School is excited to introduce our new House System, a schoolwide initiative designed to build school spirit, unity, achievement, leadership, and a stronger sense of belonging throughout our MJHS community!

Our House System is about much more than athletics. Throughout the school year, students will have opportunities to represent their houses through academics, attendance, behavior, leadership, service, competitions, school activities, and special events. We also look forward to creating opportunities for parents and family members to get involved, participate, and support their students and houses along the way.

🎸 MJHS Staff Took on the Band Photo Trend! 🎶

We may be educators by day, but apparently we’re ready to hit the stage! 😂🤘

Our MJHS staff had a little fun taking on the “band photo” trend, and we have to say… this group definitely has a vibe! 🎤🥁🎸

We’re blessed to work alongside people who know how to work hard, support one another, and, most importantly,have a little fun together! 🖤💛

Getting students to school every day and on time is essential to academic success. When students arrive late, they lose valuable seat time, instructional time, and opportunities to learn and engage with their teachers and classmates.
