Our Farm The Golubs welcome you to their home to share the many experiences of Our Farm.

Whether you be a school group during the week, or a a family on the weekend, Our Farm welcomes you to experience activities that are both fun and educational. We pride ourselves with personal attention, safety, cleanliness, and affordability. Activities include a horse ride, petting zoo,
hayride, U-Pick pumpkins, a large corn maze, and Boris the giant catapult, that throws pumpkins.

Corn update: First update of the year! The corn looks very good this year. Good populations, good color , good w**d control, enough moisture. Everything is good. I always say about August 1 is my target date for ripe corn. These photos were taken a couple of days ago. I’m guessing it will be ready in about 2 weeks give or take a few days. This is slightly late for me. So stay tuned. I’ll let you know as we get closer.

Looks promising. The pumpkins are getting ready to vine out. In a week or two I won’t be able to cultivate them anymore. The rows will get too close together and then eventually we won’t be able to see the rows at all.

Today I finished planting the corn maze and put in my first planting of sweet corn. This is a little later than usual but I’m a firm believer in waiting until soils get warm for better corn populations. Pictured below is a luscious field of clover which I’ll be plowing up this week for pumpkins. As a legume, clover fixes nitrogen with the help of a symbiotic bacteria. This adds nitrogen naturally and my pumpkins seem to do well in a rotation with clover.
