09/21/2026

Corn update: the corn season has come to an end. Any corn that didn’t get sold today I will leave on the stand tomorrow for anyone who is getting withdrawal symptoms. But I won’t be picking anymore this season. It’s been a good year although we started late and we’re ending early. Sales have been strong. We have remained open for 46 consecutive days. We never ran out and until the last day or so I’d say the corn was close to being at the peak stage. And for the first time in years, I didn’t throw my back out of wack
I want to thank all of you who have bought our corn and supported our stand and my family.

We have a lot of pumpkins on the stand. They are larger than normal, very good quality with very nice stems. We have a lot on the front lawn, and even more down below in the parking lot. It’s pumpkin time now!

Update: we will have corn for a few more days at least but we’re coming near the end. It’s been a very good season, but I would be surprised if we have corn next weekend. It isn’t that there isn’t a lot more corn in the field, but it’s ripening faster than I can pick it but at some point, it will begin to be too ripe. We’ve picked literally tons of pumpkins already. The quality is superb. Please consider us for your pumpkin needs. Will be open to the public on October 3 for all activities. Of course the stands are open now, all day every day

It’s time to show off our latest corn maze for 2026. This is our 41st year in business and our 26th corn maze. We’re open to the public for activities including the corn maze on October 3rd. We should have pumpkins on the stand toward the end of the first week in September. All indications are for a very good crop. But this time of year, with vibrant vines, it’s hard to tell.

Corn update: We are open! To my surprise , looking at last years records, we opened on the exact same date. The variety I have for the next couple of days is Quick Start. I’m getting most all of my sweet corn seed from Holmes Seed now.

Corn update: First update of the year! The corn looks very good this year. Good populations, good color , good w**d control, enough moisture. Everything is good. I always say about August 1 is my target date for ripe corn. These photos were taken a couple of days ago. I’m guessing it will be ready in about 2 weeks give or take a few days. This is slightly late for me. So stay tuned. I’ll let you know as we get closer.

Here’s photos of sweet corn and pumpkins as of 7/4/26
Looks promising. The pumpkins are getting ready to vine out. In a week or two I won’t be able to cultivate them anymore. The rows will get too close together and then eventually we won’t be able to see the rows at all.

Today I finished planting the corn maze and put in my first planting of sweet corn. This is a little later than usual but I’m a firm believer in waiting until soils get warm for better corn populations. Pictured below is a luscious field of clover which I’ll be plowing up this week for pumpkins. As a legume, clover fixes nitrogen with the help of a symbiotic bacteria. This adds nitrogen naturally and my pumpkins seem to do well in a rotation with clover.

Pictured here are the last 3 loads of the season, picked today. Load #33, 34, and 35. So we should be able to have plenty of high quality pumpkins through Halloween night. I think this might be the best crop of pumpkins I’ve ever had, in my 40 years of growing them. We have blue, pink, and white stacking pumpkins. Pumpkins with warts. Pie pumpkins. Jack-o’-lantern sized pumpkins. Extra large 60+ pounds pumpkins. So see for yourself what we have to offer. And we hope you will turn to us for your pumpkin needs.

This couple came here today toward the end of the day. It had been raining on and off and I was cold and wet, as was my help, John and Jordan. When they came back from the maze, the turtle maze, they said they found this baby snapping turtle in the entrance of the maze, the turtle maze! Jase, the guy with the beard has had experience raising a painted turtle and will try and raise this baby snapper, that he found in the turtle maze!
