Minnesota State University Mankato’s Department of Dental Education is offering free dental care area children.

Appointments are for patients age 18 and under and may include cleanings, x-rays, exams, sealants and fluoride treatments. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Please call 507-389-2147 to schedule an appointment. Once your appointment is made, our friendly team will help with directions, parking and safety measures.

Exams will be conducted on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato, at the public dental clinic in the Clinical Sciences Building.

The public dental clinic is also accepting new patients who are looking for high-quality care at an affordable price.

I hope you had a wonderful, restful break and are ready to start the semester with a positive attitude!



A couple of resources to share:

CFAP (Covid Food Assistance Program) will take place on Saturday, January 23 from 11 am – 1 pm or until food runs out. It will take place at the Prairie Winds Middle School Parking Lot, 1200 Prairie Winds Drive (It’s about 4 miles from campus)
Please take advantage of the opportunity for the free food.

This should help stretch your resources!



The Campus Kitchen is looking for a volunteer shift leader to process food on Fridays between 11 am – 2 pm (Hours could adjust if you have a class at that time.)
The student leader would be responsible for processing food (taking large quantities of food and repackaging it into smaller amounts. Volunteers are able to take some food with them when they leave. Contact Karen Anderson (me – just reply to this email) if you are interested!

Due to Covid, a limited number of volunteers are able to be in the CK at the same time.



The Campus Cupboard is looking for a few volunteers to help unpack the delivery truck on Thursday, 1/7/21. Contact Becky at CC if you are able to help! Usually volunteers are able to take some food with them when they are done.
We anticipate The Maverick Food Pantry will open on 1/11/21. See past flyers about this new program and more info to be posted soon.


The Campus Kitchen is stocking the Campus Kitchen Little Fridge and Bread Cart all week so PLEASE pick up this free food if you need it. Conveniently, food is available on the Bread Cart and the CKLF if you stop by the Campus Cupboard during their hours today (11 – 3 pm) (During break they are only open on Tuesdays) Food on the Bread Cart and in the CKLF is available Mon-Friday from 8 am to 9 pm at 331 Dillon Ave.

Minnesota State University, Mankato is proud to announce the new Maverick Food Pantry, run by Diversity and Inclusion in partnership with Student Government and the Kearney Center for International Students. This service will provide perishable and non-perishable food as well as toiletries for students that are in need. The full pantry will open at the beginning of spring semester in 142 Carkoski Commons. Our goal is to work collaboratively with academic departments, community organizations, and corporate partners to provide food for students that are in need. In an effort to serve students during the break between semesters, we will be distributing food boxes each Monday from Noon to 2:00 p.m. in the Multicultural Center, CSU 269. Please spread the word to your students about this service and consider partnering with us on service-learning projects or make a donation to the Maverick Food Pantry. On behalf of every International Student and the Former President Mr. Sanjaya Balami, we would like to congratulate to Mr. Liberty Hombe from the Republic of South Africa, as the new ISA President, and to Mr. Freeman Moma, the new ISA Vice President. The pair won with 93.6% of the vote, therefore meeting the election requirement of receiving yes votes from at least 60% of voters.
We wish them for their successful tenure.

Mr. Liberty Hombe, Presidential Candidate from the Republic of South Africa, and Mr. Freeman Moma,Vice- Presidential Candidate from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, will run as the only candidate pairing for the ISA Election on July 13th 9 a.m. to July 17th 3 p.m.
