Minnesota State University, Mankato’s official start to the school year took place Monday as administration, faculty and staff gathered for Convocation 2026. Attendees heard from President Edward Inch, Provost David Hood, student president Chase Hiber and the mighty Maverick Machine. Classes at MSU begin August. 24.

Former MSU President Karen Boubel passed away Saturday, July 25. She served as interim president in 2001 and 2002, preceding Richard Davenport. We remember the many contributions Boubel made to MSU and express our heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends. See full story in comments.

Just a reminder, disc golf is great for ages old to young (or even doe to fawn). Our 9-hole disc golf course skirts along our mile and a half long fitness trail, which provides a great off-campus feel to de-stress while you're still on campus!
