I participated in a Reverse Q & A debate with some of the other school board candidates on Sunday, 10/23.

Candidates were asked to either agree or disagree with four assertions and then discuss why they hold their position. Please become educated by watching this debate!

A few important time notes if you don't have time to watch the entire thing:

At 1 minute 20 seconds, the assertion was "Students are held accountable for their behaviors and their actions."

At 16 minutes and 45 seconds, the assertion was "The only remedy for past discrimination is current discrimination."

At 27 minutes and 40 seconds, the assertion was "Mankato Area Public Schools Administration understands the challenges teachers face in their classrooms"

At 39 minutes and 20 seconds, the assertion was "Social Promotion is a problem at Mankato Area Public Schools (being advanced a grade without meeting the requirements).

At 58 minutes and 20 seconds, the candidates explain why they are running for school board. All of the candidates are mentioned in the closing statements, not just those present.

Mankato Marathon Weekend is one of our favorites - it is a chance for Mankato to come together and show COMMUNITY support for all the athletes and families participating in the weekend events.

When we come together, we can do amazing things! Our school board needs a teacher's voice for our commUNITY.

I highly encourage voters to be educated in electing our new school board members. You will be able to vote for 3 four-year term seats, and one 2-year term seat.

I am running as a community member to give voice to our students, families, and teachers. As a former ISD77 teacher, I have first-hand knowledge about how our schools operate and the changing needs of our students and families.
