Maddox and Korbin finally found their forever spots for Virtual Learning. Also on our chalkboard today we have the date written two different ways and our quote of the day. Everyday is getting easier and a lot more organized as we continue to move on with our Virtual School Learning. A huge thank you shout out to our fantastic teacher's and staff for making all of this possible for our students and their families!!! Keep up the awesome work!!!

Madison Elementary is a special place for many reasons. It is the people in our school community—past and present—who have made Madison what it is today.

Madison Elementary was fortunate to host the Kids at Hope Board this morning. These board members were visiting from Arizona to see the Kids at Hope work alive in Manitowoc. Our student shared their I Matter pledge and our community circle time. These are just a few of the purposeful opportunities we have at Madison to make connections with kids and share our hopes and dreams for the future. We believe all kids are capable of success - no exceptions! Way to go Madison! Kids at Hope #MadisonProud #KidsAtHope

Did you know Madison is a Heart Safe School? Madison staff recently had a cardiac emergency drill as part of our Heart Safe Schools program and they did an amazing job! Each of our schools in the MPSD has a team of staff trained and ready to respond in the event of an emergency. Way to go, MPSD!

Just a reminder to send your child to school with a mask each day. It is great if an extra can be kept in their school bag in case the first one gets dirty.

During part of our 1st grade reading time, students in Mr. Ortega's class are working on the comprehension questions Who?, What?, and Where? with the "Frog and Toad Are Friends" story book. Mr. O has a rug that gets the students up and moving as they recall story elements (Characters, Setting, Problem, Beginning, Middle, End, Solution). Next time you read with your child ask them these important parts of the book. #MadisonProud

Mr. Ortega's 1st grader were busy in Social Studies familiarizing themselves with where they are on the map of our town, our state, our country, and in the world. They are also working on writing and memorizing our home address. Ask your 1st grader about where they live so they can share their knowledge. #MadisonProud

First Graders in Mr. Ortega's class have been working on memorizing numbers that add up to 10. They made a paper flap to help us remember the partners that add up to 10, and learned and sang a song with Mr. O on guitar to help us remember the math facts even more. The students really got into the chorus of the song that goes, "These are the friends that make ten, and we'll do it again!"
