Each year, Lincoln High School students put their skills into practice during Mock Interview events as part of their Financial Literacy courses. With support from local professionals, students gain interview experience, build connections, and receive valuable feedback.

New Shipbuilders, meet Manitowoc! 🚌

Our new teachers and their mentors hopped aboard for a district bus tour hosted by Human Resources, visiting each of our schools, including Lakeshore School of Innovation, as well as our Multi Service Center.

And what better way to wrap up than with ice cream at Cedar Crest’s iconic big cow? A little district discovery, a little Manitowoc tradition and a sweet start to the school year!

A warm welcome to our newest MPSD educators! ⚓

Last week, 36 educators serving in a variety of roles across the district, from classroom teachers and special educators to counselors, school psychologists, and more, gathered for our New Educator and Mentor Breakfast.

Superintendent Lee Thennes and HR Director Stacie Opahle welcomed the group before each new educator was introduced by their principal and recognized in front of their new colleagues.

Before the first bell rings, our Ships have a chance to get acquainted with their schools, teachers and classmates!

🍎 K–4 Meet Your Teacher | August 31
Elementary families are invited to visit their school, meet their teacher and drop off school supplies from 4–7 p.m.

⚓ Transition Day | September 1
Transition Day is for students in grades K–9 and any Lincoln High School students who are new to MPSD. Times and details vary by school, so watch for information from your child’s school.

🎒 First Day of School | September 2
Wednesday, September 2 is a FULL school day for K–12 students and the only full Wednesday of the school year. Regular Wednesday early-release schedules begin the following week.

❤️ 4K families: The first day of 4K at Riverview Early Learning Center is Tuesday, September 8. Riverview families will participate in individual parent meetings prior to the first day rather than Meet Your Teacher or Transition Day.

A huge thank you to The Salvation Army Manitowoc County for their generous donation of school supplies to the MPSD Caring Closet!

These supplies were collected during The Salvation Army’s recent Stuff the Bus drive and will help ensure MPSD students and families have access to the school essentials they need throughout the year.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone in our community who donated and helped fill the bus! 🚌✏️📓
